Baseball Unlimited Instructional Staff Richard Cordani, Owner Rich Cordani grew up in Holliston, MA where he lettered three years of varsity baseball from 1985 to 1987. A two time MVP of his baseball team, he recorded a .456 career batting average and led his team to victory in the Massachusetts state championship his senior year. Rich was a pitcher in high school and pitched in the state championship where he pitched 30 innings in 14 days. He had a 4-0 record with two saves. Rich was named MVP of the state tournament. In 1988, Rich was invited into the Cape Cod League with the Bourne Braves where he was named Player of the Week. Rich went on to play Junior College at Manatee Community College in Florida. While at Manatee, Rich was named as an All State performer. He was also part of the All State Tournament team that same year. In 1989, Rich graduated from Manatee CC and received a scholarship from Louisiana State University. He joined the LSU squad in January of 1990 and made an immediate impact as one of the Tigers’ top performers. Rich was selected second team All-SEC and was also chosen the Louisiana Newcomer of the Year by the Louisiana Sportswriters Association. In 1991, Rich won the National Championship and was named MVP of that game. He set the national record twice for three doubles in a game and was named the SEC Player of the Week. He was selected into the Milwaukee Brewers organization where he made it up to double A. Zenith Marimon, OwnerZenith Marimon is a native of Waltham, MA. He played varsity baseball for the Waltham High organization for three years. He excelled as a first baseman and an outfielder. Zenith was All Scholastic in 1987 and 1988. He was known for his quick hands, his great eye, and his capability to hit homeruns 400+ feet in distance. Zenith played for the Suburban League All Star team and was awarded the MIAA tournament sectional team championship in both 1987 and 1988. Z graduated from Waltham High School in 1988 and was drafted right out of high school and played for the Oakland Athletics organization. After his time in Oakland, he played for the Waltham Stan Musual baseball team where he won many MVP’s. One of these days, Zenith will be in the Waltham High School Hall of Fame. Jason Hoye, InstructorJason Hoye is from Natick, Ma and played for Catholic Memorial High School where he graduated in 1996. The Knights were Catholic Conference champions in 1994 and Jason was a conference all star in 1996. During those years, he also played nationally for the New England Lightning in Oklahoma and Florida. While in high school, he was recruited by Wheaton College, which was starting a new baseball program. Jason helped build the foundation of Wheaton baseball helping it become one of the premier Division III teams in the region and nation. During his four years at Wheaton, he was a two year captain and led the program to a combined 91-42 record, qualifying for the ECAC tournament twice and the NCAA tournament his senior year. The team also won the NEWMAC conference in 1999 and 2000. Jason batted .380 during his career, was a two time all New England selection, and a two time NEWMAC all star. In 1998, he led the nation in triples, and was 12th in the nation batting .444. Wheaton baseball is now 304-123-4 in its first 10 years of competition. After college in 2001, Jason played in the German Bundesliga for the Wuppertal Stingrays where he batted .382. He began coaching baseball for Catholic Memorial in 2004 and football for Newton South High School in 2006. Jason has also played for the Irish National Team in London and Belgium for the 2006 European Championships. The team will compete in Portugal in 2008.
Bobby Hastry, Instructor Bobby Hastry grew up in Maynard, MA where he lettered 4 years of varsity baseball. While at Maynard he excelled as a pitcher and compilled a 24-2 career record along with an era under 1.20. He lead the Maynard baseball team to 4 straight league championships and went deep into the state tournament each year. Bobby was also selected to the all-league team 3 times through out his high school career. He decided to attend Marist College a division 1 baseball program in Poughkeepsie, NY. While attending Marist College Bobby saw action as a starting pitcher as well as a late inning relief pitcher. He helped capture the MAAC championship during his Junior year and saw action in the NCAA tournament at LSU. Bobby also competed in the NYCBL for 2 summers in Watertown and Amsterdam where he saw ample time. After his senior year at Marist he was signed by the Kansas City Royals and spent a summer with the single-A team in Burlington, NC. He finished with a 2-3 record with 1 save and a 3.65 era. Bobby will be the pitching coach at Belmont High School in the upcoming season. Bobby will also be the pitching coach for Saratoga, NY (NYCBL) during the summer.
Will Bissonnette, Instructor Will Bissonnette is from Roslindale, MA. He graduated from Boston Latin School in 1998. A four year starter at shortstop, Will helped lead the Wolfpack to the Dual County League Championship his senior year. As a member of the New England Lightning Baseball program from 1995-1998, Will was selected his junior and senior years to travel to Florida with the Top 96 Showcase Team. After high school, Will went on to Wheaton College in Norton, MA to play for Head Coach Eric Podbelski. While at Wheaton, Will was a member of (4) NEWMAC Championship teams and made (3) appearances in the NCAA tournament. Taking home All New England Honors his senior year, Will capped off his Wheaton career by playing in the College vs. University All Star game held at Fenway Park. More recently, Will played a couple seasons in the Intercity League for the Watertown Reds. Tony Gonzalez, Instructor Tony Gonzalez is a native of Framingham, MA. Tony graduated from Framingham High School in 2001. During his time there, Tony was the starting center fielder for all of his four years in high school. In his senior year, Tony batted a stout .568 and played in the 2001 MA/CT all-star game at Fenway Park. Tony was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 16th round of the MLB draft. Tony attended Boston College on a football scholarship. Tony played four years as a wide reciever at BC catching passes from NFL quatarback Matt Ryan. Tony won the football coaches award in his senior year at BC. Currently, Tony coaches baseball and football for Framingham High School.
